UPCNET is the state level entrance examination conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Uttar Pradesh (ABVMU) for the admission in the BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing Courses. The examination held in the month of May or June and registration for the same started in the month of March and April. UPCNET 2025 is expected to be held in the 3rd – 4th week of the may as Classes for graduation starts in July/ August.

UPCNET/ UP BSc Nursing Examination Overview

The full form of UPCNET is Uttar Pradesh Combined Nursing Entrance test. As of now UPCNET exam is conducted offline and in one day and it is expected that there will not be any change in the pattern of examination in the year of 2025 also. About 1 lakh students enrolled for UPCNET in the year of 2024 and it is expected that the number of students gradually will increase in 2025.

Recently Uttar Pradesh government decided that No college will fill their UP BSc Nursing seats without entrance examination, and this rule applies for all private and government institutes. This is the reason of increasing competition in UPCNET and cut-off increases sharply.

There is very less government seats available in UP BSc Nursing examination and more than 1 lakh students appear in this examination so the competition is very high as selection ratio is very low. the students compete for 1326 government seats and about 25-30 thousands private BSc Nursing seats. If anyone want to get admission in UP BSc Nursing course then he must need to qualify the UPCNET examination.

UPCNET/ UP BSc Nursing 2025 Exam Pattern

The UPCNET/ UP BSc Nursing examination is an Objective [Pen & Paper] Mode examination. It comprises of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English and Nursing aptitude subjects. It is conducted in single day across all district of Uttar Pradesh.

The Level of UPCNET 2025 exam will be Intermediate or 12th level. Students have to prepare above mentioned subjects at intermediate level.

The exam paper is divided in to 5 sections First section is comprises of Biology, second section is chemistry third section is of Physics and 4&5 section comprise of Nursing aptitude and English. each section has 40 questions and students have to attempt all questions of each section. students have to complete these 200 questions in 200 minutes.

Eligibility for UPCNET 2025/ UP BSc Nursing Examination

To appear in UPCNET 2025/ UP BSc Nursing examination candidates must have passed 12th exam in science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) as main subjects.
The candidates age must be 17 year as on September 2025
The candidates must have English as a Compulsory subjects in intermediate.
All State candidates can apply for UP BSc Nursing exam/ UPCNET 2025. But Government seats are reserved for Uttar Pradesh Domicile students.
all other state students can apply but they can only take admission in Private BSc Nursing institutes.
